With
prices sky rocketing nowadays, is the idea of creating home made mascara too
out of this world? Honestly its not.
The ingredients you need are the following: a half cup of castor oil and 3 teaspoons of mica, a colorant agent. Just mix these two together and make sure that there are no clumps.
If you think that the mixture you made is too wet, try adding petroleum jelly, one of the original ingredients of the first ever mascara made by TL Williams, the creator of Maybelline’s iconic flagship product.
When you apply this home made mascara,
do so as if you would a store brought one. Use a wand applicator to evenly coat
your lashes but in this case, let the first layer dry first before applying the
second one. Keep in mind that 2 layers of mascara is enough because if you put
on more than that, you might weigh down the eye lids especially if there is
petroleum within the mixture.
Store the mascara in a cool dry place to prevent
it from hardening. But if it does turn hard, do not dispose of it just yet. Pop
it in the microwave and just re- heat.
Remember that some eyes are more
sensitive than other so if this home made mascara causes you itchiness or
irritability, immediately wash off.
